Each dot on the Dot Weave Wool Throw Pillow is a small cluster of wool loops, worked into the base by hand as the weaving moves along. No two pillows share the same arrangement. The wool is 100% natural with no dye applied, and each one includes a feather insert.
The Surface Up Close
Each cluster of loops sits raised off the base with open space around it, so the pattern reads through texture rather than color. Base and clusters share one undyed tone, which keeps the effect subtle. Each piece is made by hand in a small family workshop: the flat ground is woven first on the foot pedal loom, then the clusters are set in as the work continues, their placement changing from one pillow to the next.
