Woven Pillow in Open Fringe Wool

Long open fringe strands lay across the face of the Fringe Wool Throw Pillow, each one thick and free-hanging, falling independently from the base weave. The fringe moves with the pillow, the strands resettling into a different arrangement each time it is moved.

Two Weeks on the Loom

Each woven pillow takes up to two weeks to complete in a small workshop, arriving at 20" x 20" and 6 lbs with the insert. The base weave is laid first, the fringe strands worked in by hand across each row as the weaving progresses, the even spacing of the fringe rows visible proof of that time. No synthetic fibers and no dyes are used at any stage of production.

Hand-Spun Fringe  

Every strand is hand-spun before weaving begins, twisted from raw fleece to a thickness that wanders along its length. That gives each one its own drape and angle.
